Weight Loss:

We often think we have to sign ourselves up for an intensive exercise program(yoga, weight training, aerobics class, spinning, swimming laps, running 5 miles, walking for an hour, pilates, and so on) to lose weight, but the fact is that fat burns at a lower intensity.  To lose weight we need to allow our bodies the time and energy to take the fat from storage, break it down, use what ever there is for energy and eliminate the rest.

Eating low fat and low calorie diets frequently doesn’t work for losing weight because our body needs fat to thrive.  Our nervous system depends on fat, including cholesterol, to function optimally.  The fat we have stored on our body is not only fat that we have eaten but also carbohydrates, and even protein!  When we are overweight our bodies are not in balance.  The balance, on a few different levels, has been knocked off kilter which leads us down that slippery slop to obesity, diabetes, irritable bowel syndrome and even behavioral problems.

When we work our bodies intensively or against an opposing force, sugar is what the body grabs for fuel because it is available for quick use.  Therefore, the fat we are wishing to use is left for when the body has more energy and time to break it down.

Dieting:

Dieting means that we are cutting back on certian foods, most likely fats.  Many real foods contain fat, so inorder to lower the fat content the food must be processed.  Low fat diets harm the body and greatly increase the likelyhood of development of diseases, many diseases!

Our bodies function best from protein and FAT.  The nervous system depends on fat to operate and build new cells.  Every single little cell in our body has a membrane primarily composed of fat.  When foods are processed to lower the fat content or break fats apart for product consistency, our body get knock off balance.  The lymphatic system is resposible for the absorption of many fats from the intestines, which is then delivered directly to the heart to mix with blood and be sent out to the rest of the body through the cardiovacular system.  This is what makes eating the right fats so important for weight control and good health.  Fats that our body needs for energy, and building blocks required for rejuvination, will be absorbed correctly and WON’T be stored as body fat.
